Webinar outline
Familiarity, reminiscence, orientation
Following a short introduction, Sharron Tancred, owner of Brisbane-based The Mural Shop will take 10-minutes to share examples of projects applying best practice knowledge of crafting an environment for dementia care.
Sharron’s work relieves behaviourisms, anger and frustrations surrounding keypad locked exit doors and cupboards. She crates Exit Diversions and Disguises tailored to your architectural dimensions that provide meaningful and interactive sensory experiences that will enhance your interior décor style.
Exit door disguises and diversions save your staff time managing your residents urge to escape.
Way-finding, orientation, and privacy
Rahzeb Choudhury co-Founder of True Doors will then take 10-minutes to introduce True Doors, decals that are a uniquely effective design solution, transforming impersonal hallways - where elders spend a great deal of their time - into welcoming, comfortable, and loving neighbourhoods with homes. He will share examples from Australia and abroad to demonstrate benefits such as way-finding, orientation, and privacy.
We’ll end with Q&A.
Following the webinar, we will share a package of inspiring ideas and examples for further orientation and reference.

Owner, The Mural Shop
I live in Brisbane, Australia, on a lake near Moreton Bay. I love to joke, a glass of wine, a good chinwag, a laugh and being silly with my two girls; one should never be too old to be silly! Also, I am an Artist, Decorator, Graphic Designer, Illustrator and Colour Psychologist.
Since 2009 I have worked with Aged Care Managers to custom design and hand-paint Murals for Dementia Exit Doors. In the same vein, in Brisbane, we have been done Cosmetic Renovations for Aged Care facilities implementing design tailored to your resident’s viseo-spatial perception as shared with us by dementia experts.
Then, since 2017 I have expanded our hand-painted services to meet Australia wide demand with custom-printed exit-door wraps through our e-commerce platform themuralshop.online. I look forward to meeting you!
